Overview
As project manager, I had been tasked with leading a team of engineers, instructional designers, writers, graphic designers, and programmers. My objective was to develop a comprehensive five-day orientation program for the new team at Clear Beginnings Relief Environmental Agency (CBREA). This initiative supported our role in constructing 75 homes and a sizable campus school for remote villagers.
Our team composition spanned geographical distances: four members were local, three resided in a neighboring state, and three were spread across the country, with varying availability for meetings. The team included subject matter experts in engineering, instructional design, writing, graphic design, and programming.
The primary learning objective of this project was to underscore the importance of teamwork and effective communication in the construction of 75 two-bedroom homes for 300 villagers. Additionally, the scope included the design and construction of a school comprising three buildings: K-5, 6-8, and 9th-12th grades, alongside a trade school.
This presentation featured documents and slides about the orientation week and a strategic plan for preparing our team members and stakeholders for the 2.5-year construction project in remote Italy.
